The U.S. elevator census

A free public map of every registered elevator, escalator and conveyance device in covered U.S. states, built from state and city inspection records. For each device the census publishes its type, its current inspection status, and the building it serves. 691,713 active devices are in the census today.

The map itself needs JavaScript. Everything on it is also reachable without it: use the building lookup, or read the coverage table at the end of this page for the states that are live and the date each was last refreshed.
